 Scalata was founded in 2019 by Nicola Venerus, a native of Friuli Venezia-Giulia, after over 10 years of professional experience working for leading cycling touring companies in the UK and Europe. Having spent the greater part of a decade living abroad, Nicola decided to return to northern Italy to offer both custom and set trips for those wishing to explore Italy’s renowned cycling routes—the same which first inspired him to take up the sport.

On every Scalata trip, Nicola and his team of staff provide a detailed day-by-day itinerary, including route info, coffee breaks, restaurants, and cultural highlights along the route. Offering signature customer service, the team handles all logistics and participates in each ride, tackling the climbs alongside guests.
